El Paso C.A.R.E.S is an initiative lead by the LMHA’s Veterans One Stop Center and MVPN brought by SAMSHA to work together collectively as a community to lower suicide amongst Veterans and Service Members. This initiative focuses on 3 major factors:
1. ATQ/ Screening- ensuring that all community agencies and organizations are screening adequately on the number of SMs and Veterans they are serving
2. Lethal Means/ Trainings- ensuring that all agencies and organizations are properly trained on military cultural and counseling on access to lethal means
3. Outreach- providing the community the proper information on where they can get services they are looking for
