It is our purpose and passion to find volunteers interested in helping Service-members, Veterans, their Family members (SVFM) to provide them with the means to be more effective at doing that. The initial entry into the Military Veteran Peer Network includes going through a short course called MVPN Military Cultural Competency: Basic Certification Training.
The course is a prerequisite for other free training sponsored by the Military Veteran Peer Network including Suicide Prevention Training, Veterans Court Mentorship Training, and Peer Group Facilitator Training.
The intent of this training is to orient Peer Volunteers with the very basic fundamentals of peer support and MVPN Peer Volunteer expectations. This training also establishes a basic understanding of military service and the many challenges that Service Members, Veterans and their Families are faced with.
