It is our purpose and passion to find those wanting to help Service Members, Veterans, and their Family Members; to provide them with the means to be more effective in serving the Service Members, Veterans, and their Families (SMVF).
The topics covered are: Fundamentals of Peer Support, Interpersonal Skills, Assessment Skills, Depression and Suicide, Anxiety and Stress, Addictive Behaviors, Modes of Peer Support.
The intent of this basic training is to orient peer volunteers with the very basic fundamentals of peer support and peer volunteer expectations. This training also establishes a basic understanding of military service and the many challenges that Service Members, Veterans, and their Families are faced with.
