Open to Veterans and those that work with and/or support Veterans, Basic Training is an entry level course that will raise awareness of the issues facing our military and veteran community. This training course is designed to provide volunteers with frontline intervention tools to address immediate basic needs of the Veterans they work with. It is our purpose and passion to find volunteers interested in helping service members, Veterans, and their family members; to provide them with the means to be more effective at doing so. The intent of this basic training is to orient peer volunteers with the very basic fundamentals of peer support and MVPN Peer Volunteer expectations. This training also establishes a basic understanding of military service and the many challenges that service members, veterans, and their families are faced with.
